Still Enjoy Pizza While Facing Chronic Illness

Pizza for Health – Who Wants a Piece?

Greetings! When facing chronic illness, we all know we have to make choices.

Believe it or not, the most harmful toxin you face on a daily basis is food. Yes, what you eat can be what’s killing you, or at least what is keeping your immune system so lethargic and overwhelmed that it cannot fight for your body’s health.

When your body becomes incapable of healing itself, dreadful maladies such as cancer, ALS, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and the like begin to take control.

Sometimes when you begin improving your health through nutrition, you are afraid of how it will affect your life and wonder if you will never eat your favorites again. I can tell you better health is possible while still enjoying delicious food, even from day one.

Supreme Pizza

Beginner recipe (this means you can eat this from day one on your road to health)

Diet rule #1: Never take away a person’s pizza! You’ll find several delicious pizza recipes in this section. Even teenagers love this stuff.

Crust

2 cups almond flour*

3 large eggs

2 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil

¼ tsp. sea salt

½ tsp. basil

½ tsp. oregano

(*after 3 months, you can use ½ cup brown rice flour and 1 ½ cup pecan flour instead of the pricier almond flour)

Mix all ingredients together. Wet hands to prevent dough from sticking to your hands. Form the dough into a ball and place on a well-oiled pizza pan. With hands still wet, press dough into a thin layer, making sure no holes form in crust. Place dough into the oven and begin preheating the oven to 350°. The dough will set up while the oven preheats. When oven is preheated, or in approximately 10 minutes, remove crust from oven and set to the side until toppings are prepared.

Toppings

½ lb. ground meat

2 cups tomato-based pasta sauce

1 cup Monterey jack cheese, shredded

½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup onion, diced

1 cup green bell pepper, diced

1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced

½ cup tomatoes, seeded & diced

2 scallions, diced

sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

extra virgin olive oil

While crust is setting, brown ground meat. Season with salt and pepper.

Top crust with pasta sauce, then cheeses, then meat, and finally veggies.

Drizzle with olive oil and season with a sprinkle more of salt. Bake for 15 minutes.

Slice and enjoy.
